nag screens doesn't matter when the protection is really good. For me Avast is not better than AVG or Avira that is preferable to recommend. Avira developers do really know what the reliable protection is.

I would like to say that Avira must to be first among the best antiviruses. Avast won't earn my respect ever. Yes, it's free but not as reliable as it wished to be.

Trying to protect my system I looked for a reliable antivirus. The security and detection rates of the antivirus are the most important things, aren't they? As to my opinion, Avira should be preferably chosen. AVG and Avast stand behind it and cannot be considered as its competitors. Well, there appear nag screens somewhile. But Avira offers much better protection that should be considered here.

Avast has high detection rates but its real-time shields are nightmarish! Pop-ups appear on the majority of websites visited. Facebook and YouTube are no exceptions. The real-time web-scanning tool can be disabled. Afraid, but this option leaves you unprotected while surfing the web. I'd say the program is comfortless.....

Real problem to discuss...Norton Antivirus 2012 slows down the computer and freezes it often. It has poor detection rates and let the virus paralyze your PC. Be aware and don't purchase their product! this can appear to be a comedown for you!

I realized that Avast free is one of the best antivirus programs. Earlier I tried Norton Antivirus 2012. It's very annoying, found viruses badly and slowed down my computer. Moreover, it's not free! Avast is more reliable, though is free.

AVG Free was great for me. It included several useful features. First, it scaned email. Second, an icon on Google results pages was posted by it. This informed me of potential dangerous websites listed. Later, I changed it to Microsoft Essentials. This one did not inform me of websites' security level and scan email. Moreover, I'd some incidents that made me think my computer is vulnerable. I want to have more protection on my PC. Unfortunately, AVG Free does not provide email scanning anymore. Mozilla's WOT requires you to visit website to see if it's safe. Maybe, is there any program that provides the info on the Google results page?

Avast installed on my PC caused its inadequate performance. Slowing down all the programs, it turned to be very irritating. Some of them did not start at all. My computer needed to be restarted at least twice after the start up. It seemed to be something wrong with every my program. Once Avast was taken off, my PC has no more problem. I'll check some other software and won't use this ever.

Unproblematic usage of Avira during 5 years..Now I'm disappointed. New version of the program offers to buy a full version time and again. "ipmgui.exe" is the reason the full screen lacks when viewing videos. As a result, I decided and installed Avast antivirus software. Though it also has annoying notifications, it works fine.
